i never bothered with my brilliant friend although i knew a favourite director, Alice Rohrwacher, directed four episodes of the first season (3 4 5 and 6) and i may have watched one of them, and i may have known it was her sister Alba who narrated the series, but i don’t speak a word of italian so… but had nfi she was in it, playing the middle aged Lenù in season 4 so when i stumbled across it i was like yay.

2. Downloaded Alice Rohrwacher’s 2014 film The Wonders a semi-autobiographical film in which Alba played a role loosely based on the sisters’ mother.
5. Rohrwacher worked with her sister a second time on the film Happy as Lazzaro which premiered at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.
